Dr. Nikki Snipes is a native of Vernon, Alabama. She is married to Nat Snipes and mom to Sydney and Sawyer. They share their home with Herman and Rosie, both rescue pups, and kitties, Finn and Vader.
Dr. Snipes graduated from Mississippi State University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. In her off time she enjoys camping and traveling with her family. Professionally, Dr. Snipes finds promoting wellness care and strengthening the human-animal bond to be the most rewarding parts of practice.
Dr. Snipes is described by her work family as a caring, compassionate and thorough Doctor who goes above and beyond for all of her patients, friends, family and staff.
Dr. Kristy Clopton graduated with Dr. Snipes from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. After spending 6 years in a mixed animal practice in Central Florida, she joined Dr. Snipes in the Shoals where they eventually took over Shoals Animal Hospital.
At work, Dr. Clopton enjoys dentistry and managing critical cases. When she is not working, she loves to travel and go camping with James and Olivia. They share their home with 2 rowdy pups and 2 very tolerant kitties.
Dr. Clopton is described by her work family as an intelligent, outgoing and brave soul who is always willing to help and a strong-willed, problem solving Doctor that is determined to figure out the best possible solution for her patient's needs.
Erica joined our team in June of 2012. She has over 20 years experience working with animals from helping her mom care for shelter animals during her childhood to spending most of her adult life working in a veterinary clinic.
She and her husband, Marlo, share their home with 2 cutie pups, Jazzy and Oscar and a crazy kitty, Fonzi Earl. Erica has 2 adult children, Tori and Ty and 2 adorable grand beauties, Aria and Avani, that she is absolutely crazy about.
Erica is described by her work family as a hard working, problem solving leader who is a great listener, organized, trustworthy, and will never say "I can't"!
Kristen, our Lead Assistant, has always wanted a career in Veterinary Medicine so she was excited when she joined our team in July of 2012. Kristen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from UNA in 2019. She and her fiancé, Justin share their home with 2 dogs, Jackson and Ruger. They also have 4 sweet kitties, Rajah, Sabrina, Dunkin and Jasmine. When not at work, Kristen loves to play video games, go kayaking, and spend time with family and friends.
Kristen is best described by her work family as the hardworking, go-to girl who is bubbly, helpful, understanding, clumsy, and always laughing!
Amy came to work with us in June of 2013. She and her daughter, Madison, tend to their feathered farm consisting of chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Many of these babies came to them with special needs like their cross beak chickens. She also has 2 sweet pups, Cocoa and Otto in addition to a rabbit named Teeny! Life is never dull at Amy's house!
Amy is best described by her work family as a compassionate, reliable, chick rescuer extraordinaire who is always supportive and takes pride in patient care!
Angela joined our team in October 2017 as an Animal Care Attendant and has recently trained as a Veterinary Assistant. Working in Veterinary Medicine has always been a dream of hers and it shows at work. She got married in Oct 2022 to her long time love, Hunter. Angela and Hunter keep busy with their 7 dogs, a cat, and a cute little rabbit.
Angela is described by her work family as a fearless, kind and compassionate soul who has an upbeat attitude and always willing to take on any task!
Brionna joined our team in April 2019. She has always been an animal lover and shares her home with her dog, Jack, 2 cats and a bearded dragon. In her free time, Bri loves to hang out with her friends and pets, trying new things and meeting new people.
Bri's work family describes her as a compassionate, helpful, understanding person who is committed to excellent patient care and is fun to work with!
Taelor joined our team in June 2023. She and her boyfriend, Nathan, have a Great Dane, Athena, who allows them to live with her. In other words, Athena runs the place! Taelor has always known she wanted to work with animals and when she found Vet Med, it was game over from then on for her. When not at work, she enjoys reading, going to the beach, and caring for her horses and cows.
Taelor's work family best describes her as a funny, upbeat and happy person who is always hungry and snacking on something. You will not only see Taelor in rooms, but she will also occasionally greet you at our CSR desk and take your calls.
Jodi rejoined our team in June 2024. She started her career in Vet Medicine in 1991. Jodi has a soft spot for the rejected and special needs pets. She has 4 horses, 4 dogs, 11 cats and 5 hens that she cares for on her farm that she lovingly refers to as Misfit Acres. When not at work, Jodi enjoys reading, photography and spending time with family, friends and her fur babies.
Jodi's work family describes her as being a fun to work with, humorous, hard working and big hearted person who keeps us laughing.
Katie came to work with us in May 2022. Her world revolves around her precious son, Kyrie. She is kept on her toes by her rambunctious pup, Kash. When not at work, Katie enjoys reading, trying new things and being outdoors.
Katie is described by her work family as a quick learning and kind hard worker who is honest, easy to speak to, and has a cool, calm demeanor!
Sharlett joined us in Dec 2022. She is married to her sweetie, James and they share two adorable daughters, Sapphire and Adora. Together they care for their 4 crazy, cuddly pups. When not at work, Sharlett enjoys reading, working puzzles and spending time with her family.
Sharlett is described by her work family as a down to earth, bubbly and easy going person who is easy to talk to and eager to learn!
Breanna joined our team in September 2022. She is a busy sports mom to her 2 boys who are 7 and 14 years old. Outside of work, Bre loves family time, making memories with her boys, and traveling.
Bre is best described by her work family as a strong, hardworking, fast learning go-getter who has an upbeat attitude, great sense of humor, and is always smiling!
Victoria joined our team in April 2023. She is married and a mom to a beautiful daughter. She has 5 pets that keep her busy as well. Victoria grew up on a farm and spent her childhood helping her mom at the animal shelter. She has 7 years of previous experience in the veterinary field. Victoria does not remember a time of not having a passion to save and help animals of all kinds.
Victoria is best described by her work family as honest, dependable and has an obvious love for all of our patients.
Hailey began working with us in June 2023. She is currently attending college to pursue her Veterinary Technician degree. Hailey has never wanted to do anything else than to work in the Vet Med field. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, hunting, reading and spending time with her farm animals.
Hailey is described by her work family as honest, bubbly, incredibly sweet and hardworking. We are lucky to have Hailey on our team!
